Sculpture and three dimensional collage installations made in response to a given place
These paintings have their origins in the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, when sitting in my car became the only place to be alone. See the entire series on instagram @rachel.urkowitz
A while ago, before I had children, I dreamed about animals all the time. I started to draw key scenes from these dreams as a way to locate them outside of my body. During the pandemic, I reached out to my friends to see if they were having notable dreams. Anyone who sent me a description of their dream would get an illustration in the mail from me. This is an open ended project, and if you have a dream that you would like to see drawn, just email me the description and your mailing address. Your dream will arrive free of charge, in a few weeks.
