I am an artist and designer based in New York. I work in several mediums, including painting, sculpture, collage and installation. Nature and landscape are central to my work, as well as an ongoing exploration of color and the expanded field of painting.
My work has been featured in solo and group shows in the US and Europe. She has had solo shows at White Columns, Michael Steinberg Fine Art, NY and Galerie Michel Neff, Frankfurt. I was awarded an Artists at Giverny Fellowship and Residency from the Rockefeller Foundation/Art Production Fund in 2001, a 9/11 Artists Emergency Residency at the Santa Fe Art Institute in 2002, and in 2007 was an artist in residence at La Generale, an artist-run collective in Paris, France. I am currently represented by De Chiara Projects, New York/Berlin.
I received a BA in Fine Art from Brown University and an MFA in Painting from Hunter College, and studied painting, film and printmaking at the San Francisco Art Institute and the the Slade School of Art in London.
I am an Assistant Professor at Parsons School of Design, and co-founder of the design team Felt Design, NYC.
In addition to gallery work, I produce illustrations and design work for a variety of clients, including The Lancet, Science, and The Journal of Experimental Medicine. I have created illustrations and book designs for arts non-profits and individual creative professionals. Along with Gabrielle Hamill, I founded Felt Design/NYC to produce textiles and bespoke furniture inspired by quotidian 20th century design and a playful, sustainable approach to materials and color.
